The Mexico orphanage ministry is a great way to experience what it is to be a missionary. Only a 100 miles outside of the US border, it is worlds away from our everyday life. We have the opportunity to relieve the full time staff of missionaries at the “Kid’s Kingdom” orphanage providing them much needed rest while at the same time exercise our spiritual and physical muscles. We work and play with the children through Bible studies, various crafts and games, and sharing all meals with children. This time of work/ministry gives us the blessing of touching the lives of children who are considered castaways of the world. In James 1:27 we are told that, "Pure and lasting religion in the sight of God our Father means that we must care for orphans and widows in their trouble". Our Lord Jesus has a heart for orphans and therefore so should we. |
