CCBC ACCREDITATION

Calvary Chapel Bible College meets California state requirements for religious exemption pursuant to California Education Code Section 94874(e)(1). The BPPE is a unit of the California Department of Consumer Affairs. The BPPE ensures that private institutions of postsecondary education are conducted lawfully.

CCBC-Downey is not accredited and is not currently pursuing accreditation for two main reasons. First, we wish to continue to have local pastors and gifted men of God teach our classes. Some of these pastors – although called by God, gifted and experienced in teaching – do not have Masters Degrees. Second, we want to keep the cost of tuition affordable so that more students have the opportunity to study at CCBC and remain free from school debt. Accreditation by a recognized agency would mean we would have to abandon these priorities.

Though the Bible College is unaccredited, many other Bible colleges will accept credit from CCBC on the basis of the integrity of the Calvary Chapel ministries, and the history and reputation of its graduates. If you have specific questions about the transferability of units, call the registrar’s office of the institution you desire to attend.
