For I reckon that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory which shall be revealed in us.” Romans 8:18

Have you ever been told by someone “you’ll understand once you get older, once you get married, or once you have a child?” This can actually be said of any life event you desire that another person has experienced. I have been told this so many times and in most of those instances the people were absolutely right, I do understand better now that I have experienced it. Well, there is one experience that we are all going to have that no one here on earth can say that about and that’s death. Why? Because they are dead. This makes this issue very difficult for some to deal with. We have no human reference to what our existence will be like after death. But, we do have the God-given scriptures to hold onto in regard to our eternity.

In Romans 8:18, the Lord speaks through Paul to reveal this God given truth that once we as Christians pass from this life into eternity, there is nothing on this earth that can compare. Eternity is incomprehensible to every one of us that are on this side of it, waiting to one day feel this glorious serenity within. But, just as it is true in life, we will understand once we get there.

In 1 Corinthians 13:12 we are told regarding death; “For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known.” I hold onto this promise that one day I will know Jesus just as much as He knows me. One day we will see our maker face to face and draw into this special relationship, the completion of our righteousness into a physical perfection free from every bit of pain or sorrow we have endured this side of eternity. Hold on brothers and sisters, the best is yet to come on the other side of eternity.

1 Corinthians 2:9 But as it is written: “EYE HAS NOT SEEN, NOR EAR HEARD, NOR HAVE ENTERED INTO THE HEART OF MAN THE THINGS WHICH GOD HAS PREPARED FOR THOSE WHO LOVE HIM.
