Reaching Others Through Prayer
In 2 Chronicles 33 we see a king who reigned 55 years in Jerusalem. But he did evil in the sight of the Lord. Manasseh raised up altars to Baal, made wooden images, and worshiped and served them. He practiced soothsaying, used witchcraft, sorcery, consulted mediums and Spiritists. He did much evil in the sight of the Lord to provoke Him to anger. The Lord spoke to Manasseh and his people, but they would not listen. Then Manasseh was afflicted by the Assyrians. He begged the Lord and humbled himself greatly with prayer. God heard his prayer and Manasseh knew that the Lord was God.
How many people around us need to hear of the great salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord? Those relatives, neighbors, friends, lawyers, judges and people in government. We need to pray for them so they too would humble themselves and know that Jesus is God. Let us not stop asking God for their hearts to be turned over to Him. We see lots of evil all around us, but we can make a difference in prayer. So, don’t quit asking and knocking for those lives in front of us.
Job 42:1-2 Then Job answered the Lord and said, “know that You can do everything and that no purpose of Yours can be withheld from You.”
Matthew 19:26 But Jesus looked at them and said to them, ‘With men this is impossible but with God all things are possible.”
