PASTORS PERSPECTIVE

Unashamed

For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.” Romans 1:16

Paul greatly desired to travel to Rome, even though it was a very wicked and sinful place, to minister to the Gentiles. He wanted to preach the gospel in Rome so that many would be pulled out of that evil. Like the Gentiles, reached by Paul, so it was with many of us. The Word was preached boldly, without shame, and we received it, forever changing our lives.

Today, we live in a culture that despises the Word of God as well as those who preach and live by it. Many Christians struggle to live a life that is unashamed of the gospel because they worry about what others may think of them. However, the gospel is nothing to be ashamed of, “for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes.” The gospel has the power to change a person’s life, just as it has changed yours. With the gospel, we have the most powerful tool at our disposal: the only message that can save one’s soul. Do not be ashamed of the gospel; instead, stand on it boldly!
