Does God Really Care?
Has that thought ever entered your mind? At one time or another most of us have felt alone, like even God has forsaken me, but what does God’s Word say? Does God care?
“Are not five sparrows sold for two copper coins? And not one of them is forgotten before God. But the very hairs of your head are all numbered. Do not fear therefore, you are of more value than many sparrows.” Luke 12:6-7
“Look at the birds of the air they neither sow nor reap nor gather onto barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?” Matthew 6:26
You might wonder why I chose those scriptures. While I was on vacation with my family, my sister went to be with Jesus. Just before she passed I was able to face time with her. Our last words were how much we love each other. Then we had a time of prayer. Later my nephew shared how my sister was singing hymns and praises unto her Lord and Savior. One of those songs was “His Eye is on the Sparrow.” Here is a small portion of that song: “Why should I feel discouraged, why should the shadows come? Why should my heart be lonely and long for heaven and home when Jesus is my portion? My constant friend is He. His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me. His eye is on the sparrow and I know He watches me.”
Now you know a little about who my sister was, and you can know Jesus just like her. Trust in the Lord with your whole heart.
